Biography:

Bianca Ruiz-Negrón is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Sociology and Criminology Department. She is originally from Bayamón, Puerto Rico, and has lived in several mainland states over the years. She received her M.A. in Sociology from the University of New Mexico in 2023 and two B.S. in Health, Society, & Policy and Family, Community, & Human Development from the University of Utah in 2021. Her work focuses on Latinx immigrant mental health and medical knowledge production. Currently, she is a graduate research assistant for RIWP in the qualitative and policy analyses teams.
